Is it just me, or do today's writers have no sense of history?hobbyfanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08089664500077967952noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2252129938551938631.post-4228077154851277262013-02-24T15:02:45.858-05:002013-02-24T15:02:45.858-05:00I'm constantly reminded of how much stuff both...I'm constantly reminded of how much stuff both DC and Marvel have available for reprints, soft or hardcover, that they are ignoring. I would love a Showcase of these old Tomahawk shorts. Maybe if the Captain Comet Archives gets decent orders they'll try something else. I pre-ordered it on Amazon at the best price I saw anywhere and the new higher msrp is probably fair for the expanded page count.John Judgenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2252129938551938631.post-6435132610274893862013-02-24T13:29:53.574-05:002013-02-24T13:29:53.574-05:00Tony, I agree with you wholeheartedly about Dr. Th...Tony, I agree with you wholeheartedly about Dr. Thirteen. I love his old stories from Star-Spangled Comics, in his own self-contained world, but when they put him in the same stories as the Phantom Stranger and the Spectre, it just made him look like a narrow-minded chump. Sure, it can be fun to have heroes interact with each other, but why on earth do publishers think that ALL their characters have to exist in the same shared universe?

And while this story wasn't reprinted in the Showcase Presents volume, it was reprinted in The Phantom Stranger #1 in 1969, which is probably where you read it. The Showcase Presents volume reprinted the rest of that issue, but didn't re-reprint this story.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15002963714116868716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2252129938551938631.post-39364195499784063612013-02-24T08:41:08.755-05:002013-02-24T08:41:08.755-05:00Dr. Thirteen wasn't a complete laughing-stock,...Dr. Thirteen wasn't a complete laughing-stock, thankfully. I had never seen him prior to the stories in either of those PS Showcases. Learn something new every day!Kris Shawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07459412655631882698noreply@blogger.com
