I recently picked up the Batman 1943 movie serial. I have also enjoyed the 1949 version too. On VHS, I don't plan converting any time soon, I have : Captain Marvel, Zombies of the Stratosphere (with Leonard Nimoy), King of the Rocet Men to name a few.

Also I love to watch the post 1980 Super Friends Cartoons. The DVD commentary in each set brings to light a lot of issues with standards and practices. The things they couldn't do back then were vastly different from what they can do today. Any Cartoon made in the 80's was deregulated by the Regan Administration. At least that's what Mark Waid claims in the directors commentary. Before the 1980's you couldn't see the hero punching out the villian. Usually that was because the networks caved in to the pressure groups that said all cartoons must be "educational".Late Night Ferenginoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2252129938551938631.post-29399221155391381042012-03-17T08:01:14.203-04:002012-03-17T08:01:14.203-04:00Hi Tony,
Just a tiny correction to Mike Gold'...Hi Tony,

Just a tiny correction to Mike Gold's comment about TENSE SUSPENSE. Archer St. John died in August 1955, three years before the issue you featured and more than two years before his company stopped publishing comics.

Gold is correct, though, in that the Fago shop had been producing St. John's comics when it was on its last legs.

--Ken QKen Qhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09117873553674453756noreply@blogger.com
