Like many, I sometimes find it hard to react sanely to the issue of creator and co-creator credit for Kirby, especially when most of what I see and hear only ever mentions Stan or Marvel as "creator". Hope the petition has struck the right balance.
http://www.change.org/petitions/marvel-entertainment-give-credit-and-royalties-to-jack-kirby-and-his-familyBKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14262262627667900995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2252129938551938631.post-56306600540292891302012-03-31T12:40:50.941-04:002012-03-31T12:40:50.941-04:00I have to agree Tony. Comics are a visual medium and it's sad the press doesn't take notice of their names. Stan made a great contribution to the Marvel Universe. However, the artists responsible for the visuals should be just as important as Lee. Without dynamic artists, Marvel would have been a footnote in comics history.Late Night Ferenginoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2252129938551938631.post-69291876334604345562012-03-31T12:20:00.205-04:002012-03-31T12:20:00.205-04:00I will never tire of having my spirits lifted by t...
I will never tire of having my spirits lifted by the way you blend common sense and compassion, Tony.

And I love the hashtag #badcomicbookchoices. I'm not on Twitter, but thankfully one doesn't have to have one's own account to just read others' twitterings; I've enjoyed the spate of contributions over the past couple of days. Here are some of my own entries.

"Hey, Cap, I bet we can disarm this rocket in time..."

"I'm sure Lex won't mind if I blow out the fire in his lab."

"What could be the harm in burning the beard off of this really strong homeless guy?"

"But I need a stage name. I know — Deadman!"

Special Tony's Pet Peeve Entry: "Wen emutsoc htiw oobakeep mosob raeppa!"

"Yes, Alana, I'm really the Plutonian."

"And over here is the penthouse's complimentary wet bar, Mr. Stark."

"If you're going to be my partner in crimefighting, Roy, you'll need a moniker. How about Speedy?"

"Of course I could look through the peephole first. But what are the chances that it's The Joker in bermuda shorts with a gun?"

Blamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07342343767763035991noreply@blogger.com
