The books, even when well written and drawn, often assume a lot from the reader. I picked up close to a dozen FCBD titles this past year and more than half read like a second or third issue of an on-going series, by which I mean there was little character introduction or information on the world in which the book took place.<br /><br />I've repeated to folks something you've said you learned from either Roy Thomas or Stan Lee. Every issue is the first issue for some reader.
