Tomorrow is PRIDE IN THE CLE, Cleveland’s annual celebration of its LGBTQ+ community. I will be there presenting as Jenny Blake Isabella, my authentic self. This brings me another step closer to the near future date when I’ll be presenting as Jenny pretty much 100% of the time. It should be somewhat easy to find me at the event. I'll be wearing a colorful sound effects skirt with some sort of t-shirt. Most likely one of my ICONIC TRANS GRANNY t-shirts.
I do have some anxiety about tomorrow. In the past, I’ve booked a nearby hotel. This year, the rates skyrocketed so greatly that I almost canceled my plans to attend. Instead, I’ll be driving in for the event. Parking will doubtless be a bitch. The weather will be uncertain. I’ve no plans to meet any of my friends at the event. It’s a little scary.
If you do see me at the event, don’t be shy about coming over to chat or hang with me. If you bring comics I’ve written, I’m cool with signing them at no charge. Just bring your own signing pens because I can only fit so much in my purse.
Anxiety or not, I’m very much looking forward to what will be my third PRIDE IN THE CLE. It’s one of the most uplifting events I’ve ever attending. If you come, you’ll feel seen, accepted and loved. The more we’re seen, the harder it will be for the forces of evil to make us disappear.
Be brave. Be kind. Be yourselves.
